Assam, West Bengal Election 2021 Live Updates: 15.72% voter turnout in West Bengal till 9am
The countdown to second phase of polling has begun in West Bengal and Assam. A total of 30 assembly constituencies from the districts of South 24 Parganas, Bankura, Paschim Medinipur and Purba Medinipur are heading in to vote. The prized seat of Nandigram will also go to polls in this phase - Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is taking on her former ministerial colleague Suvendu Adhikari, who had joined the BJP in December last year. Out of the 171 candidates in the fray, 92 are women. On the other hand, in Assam, 27 constituencies are going to polls today and have an electorate between 1.5 lakh to 2lakh
